Development New
Children's Hospital planned BROOMFIELD

The
Children's Hospital, the Aurora-based affiliate of University of Colorado
at Denver and Health Sciences Center, plans to open a $13 million center
in Broomfield next year. The
46,631-square-foot center, which will be near Colorado 7 and Interstate
25, will replace the current center at 340 E. 1st Ave in Broomfield. The
center will offer urgent-care services 24 hours a day, seven days a week;
four operating rooms for ambulatory or outpatient surgery; six beds where
children can be observed for up to 72 hours; a diagnostic imaging center
with MRI, CT, radiology and ultrasound; and multiple specialty clinics
including sports medicine, outpatient behavioral medicine, a sleep lab and
audiology. The center also will feature on-site pharmacy and lab services. The
current center in Broomfield will continue operations, "until we move
to the new facility," said hospital spokeswoman Natalie Goldstein. The
hospital hasn't decided on a name for the new center, Goldstein said.
Right now it's being called the Ambulatory Care Center, she said. The
center will be a large part of the $400 million Palisade Business Park,
which is zoned for 1,000 residential units and 1 million square feet of
commercial space. The Children's Hospital will pay about $4 million for
its site within the park. Cherrywood Shopping Center (136th and Colorado Blvd) The new shopping center located at Northwest Corner of 136th Ave and Colorado Blvd. Tenants include: Walgreens, Starbucks Drive-Thru, Liquor Store, Dry Cleaners, Bank, Veterinary, and Orthodontist. Many stores are still under construction.

The Orchard Town Center (144th and Huron) Looks like the new mall is going to have some competition in the near future. The north west corner of I-25 and 144th, a new 215 acre shopping center will be developed with tenants opening as soon as 2006! Plans include a new AMC 12 screen theatre opening in 2006, and residential properties, as well as the 144th I-25 interchange will be open by then as well.
