What’s the Scoop on the City of Thornton?

The new Walgreens, Checkers Auto Parts, Chase Bank, and Starbucks coffee, are located on the North West corner of 136th and Colorado Blvd right by Cherrywood Park.

Caring Hands Vetrinary Clinic is being constructed now.
Their current facility is just across the street on the corner of the King Soopers complex at 136th Ave. & Colorado Blvd.

King Soopers is expanding adding a Sushi bar, and imported cheese stand.

The Orchard Town Center was erected in the spring of 2008. While several business’ have taken possession, there is still several available lots to be filled!
Off Broadway will soon open in addition to the Rack Shoes that is already there.

Stores include: Staples, Macy’s, JC Penny’s, Super Target, Rocky Mountain Chocolate Factory, Happy Sumo, Aeropostale, American Eagle, GNC, Bath & Body Works, Body Shop, Crepes de Paris, Cuppy’s Coffee, Eddie Bauer, Lens Crafters, Kay Jewelers, Orchard Books, Pac Sun, Red Robin, Sunglass Hut, Victoria Secret, Zumiez, Rock Bottom Brewery, Party Cloz & Bridal, Origins, Mimi’s Café, Lifetime Fitness, Hollister, Haagen-Dazs, Forever 21, Chicos, C.J. Banks, and that is just to name a few!!

They are currently building a bike path connecting from the Orchard Town Center traveling south towards Cherrywood Park!

Nearby Hospital to Cherrywood Park is North Suburban Medical Center located on Grant Street in Thornton. There is a new Children’s Hospital that opened October 20, 2008 on Hwy 7 North of 136th Ave. and the new Platte Valley Hospital located on Bromley St. in Brighton.

City of Thornton Fire Department has a fire house on Colorado Blvd. near Cherrywood Park. This is a useful location to the neighborhood for quick first response, as well as a close location to hold meetings. Call the Fire House for details.
